Between Hikaru Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki, I'd pic the lesser evil of Hikaru Utada. At least, as I've said numerous times before, 'Can You Keep A Secret' is somehow catchy.
Now I've said I liked 'M'...but thing is, nowadays, I feel my stomach turn at the mere image of Ayumi Hamasaki. I just...dont...like...her. *brr*
What brought about this rant? I just finished watching MTV Taiwan's Jpop Top 10. After about 3 weeks on number 1, Utada's been ousted by Hamasaki.

For j-pop fans in Indonesia, Hikaru Utada's new album is available at Aquarius. I also found some Every Little Thing and Seiko Matsuda CDs! Dandy!
I could've bought the Every Little Thing CD, but it didn't have 'Graceful World'. ^^
Speaking of jpop in Indonesia in the meantime, I recall finding Ayumi Hamasaki CDs in the Plaza Senayan's Discotara.

MTV Taiwan also shows Korean music videos, by the way. I caught H.O.T's 'Outside Castle' and what I think is their newest single. I'm chasing after the latter, though I don't have much to go with as I cannot read or understand Chinese. All I can say is that it's a love ballad, and it's for either a Korean soap opera, a movie, or TV movie.

Oh yeah, stupid Napster doesn't cough up any results for H.O.T or High Five of Teenagers. Wonder why? O_o

I also caught the short advertisements for Kpop band Shinhwa on MTV Taiwan, and a music video of them! Catchy, catchy song.
And very, very cute bois. Oooh.

Have fun in Japan, sensei-sama! Waah, I envy you! ;_; With sensei-sama in Japan, my closest friend Misats in Paris...and I'm stuck here! Nyah!
Speaking of Misats, if you happen to see a skinny Asian girl accompanied by a Totoro on the streets of Paris, run for the nearest bomb shelters. Thank you Oniisama for passing on her threat--este, message.

Tomorrow, I hope to upload a new layout for this lil blog. It depends if my sister hoards the comp or not. @.@ Like Noelle, I'm up against my family over usage of the computer. My sister's addicted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer fanfiction, my mom has work to do, and they both accuse me of monopolizing the computer.
Goodnight everyone. ^^

Wow, what am I doing home?
Due to local political tension, mom thought it best that I stay home from school today. If any demonstrations break out later in the day, it may get violent, and I pass by the Indonesian Marines base on the way back from school. So for the sake of safety, I'm staying home.

Now Jakarta International School and a few other international schools here officially called off classes in anticipation of chaos. My school on the other hand - has an idiotic "oh school's open but it's really up to you to come or not". -_-' Why can't we get a simple 'yes, there's classes' or 'no, there's no classes'? Though I have heard that most of my classmates and schoolmates are staying home.

Hnh. Political demos here, and more political nitpicking in my happy home country.

What am I going to do for today? Read the new books I purchased from Aksara yesterday (the Harry Potter textbooks especially!), mess around on the computer...and somewhere along the line, do my homework.

Hey! I'm alive!

I haven't been online, have just barely caught up with my mail, and am only on now to download Every Little Thing's 'Graceful World'. As soon as I finish downloading that, I'm getting off.

I've just been more tired than usual nowadays. My afternoons are spent mostly sleeping, if not chasing after my dogs. School's started again too...and it's just the usual routine of classes, stuff to do, projects to submit. Ugh.

Still downloading. Yawn.

As I am still being a hopeless couch potato with Channel V, MTV Southeast Asia and MTV Taiwan...there really isn't much to say here. Except that Hikaru Utada's 'Can You Keep a Secret' do get annoying after repeat play on each of the music channels mentioned. Yet the more annoying it gets, the more I'm compelled to get her new CD. Ack, its cast me under its spell!

With that useless filler done, I'll continue onto a semi-important filler: NJ-kun! Get your bloody eyes off this text! Forget the url, forget anything and everything you see here! Scat! *overlysweet voice* Please?

Bleh. The risks of using my real name on the net...good gracious. ^^'

Tuesday, April 17, 2001 / 10:13 p.m.
'M' was sung by Ayumi Hamasaki. It's number 2 on MTV Taiwan's Jpop Countdown. L'arc~en~ciel's been shoved off of the chart by Hikaru Utada's 'Can You Keep a Secret' and I think my ears are screeching from the two cutesy-tootsy girlband videos on the chart. I like cute, but those bands were simply too cute. I forgot their names, but their songs are pounding in my head. Argh.

About Ayumi Hamasaki...wow, she's gained just a little bit more weight from the last time I've seen of her (on the Indonesian anime magazine 'Animonster').
'M' is a very well-made video with very nice photography. It's the symbolism in the video that leaves me uncomfortable, but it's probably because I don't like Ayumi Hamasaki. *shrug*

Quite the day for Eastern pop music. This morning I caught Fly to the Sky during one of Arirang's music breaks, and before dinner I stumbled upon a rerun of the that music show that had Koyote as the opening act (singing 'JaJon Shim' of course). I managed to sit through about 3 more groups that performed after them...though the only group that held my attention after Koyote was the boyband Ditto. Oh, that reminds me - must download some mp3s of them. Too bad H.O.T. didn't perform (or maybe I missed them when I went down to dinner) - I hoped that they would.

Now for the random BBS:

Oh Megumi! I LIKE the new layout of yer blog! :D

Lucky WhiteCat-san was able to get started on a Harry Potter fanfic. *.* Gambatte!

Speaking of Potter...I've slacked on my html, again. ^^;;; Woboy.

Monday, April 16, 2001 / 08:20 p.m.
Eh Noelle? I'm not getting errors on my page. Following your complaint, I ran a tune-up at Website Garage and it had more problems with how I wrote out the table html. What does it say ba when you try to load the page?
Anyone else getting errors whenever they view this pita?

More Harry Potter fandom babbles! I was emailed a url to this wonderful Harry Potter fanstrip, Mana Overboard. Very funny, Do enjoy!

I have finally broke my designers block, and just whipped up an index for my upcoming Harry Potter page. I'll upload it once I finish the rest of the contents so people don't have to complain about dead links.

Another song I highly recommend to put on loop and annoy the people around you with, 'JaJon Shim' by K-pop group Koyote. Very catchy, very bouncy, very scary. Yay.

It is highly reccommended to put 'I Knew Him So Well' from the musical Chess on repeat on your mp3 player. It's very well-written, it's a catchy tune, and repeated play will please the avid listener and drive everyone else to madness.

Yesterday being Good Friday, I was pretty busy as Mom had the M's over and I was entertaining Pao and Rox while the adults did their own share of chattering at the dinner table. Pao, Rox, Mica and I watched the updated version of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' which well, we didn't take too seriously. I recall one blog commented that it was shot like a bad music video, and it was; Jesus Christ cannot sing, Simon has a better voice than him, a pity he only had one song. Mary Magdalene was okay, but nothing compared to Yvonne Elliman.
The original movie was better. Enough said.

Now for what people call random BBS:

Rei-chan, I do like your new layout! ^^

WhiteCat, even I'd like to write a Harry Potter fic...but it's pretty hard to pick at the characters and try to wring out some original plot to go with them. Gambatte! I'm sure you'd churn out something good!

There's one scenario I've fancied putting in writing, something about Harry, Hermione, Ron, the Weasely twins and Draco getting drunk. Then afterwards maybe a game of 'Truth and Dare', since I'm so awed by a Harry-Draco pairing...Draco kissing Harry doesn't sound like TOO bad an idea...oh, and there must be something between Hermione-Ron!
Ey, sounds like one of Talya Firedancer's fanfics. ^^
Fanfiction has warped my fragile little mind.

Thursday, April 12, 2001 / 11:08 p.m.
Waaaahhhh! I have designers block! I haven't done a thing for the Harry Potter page!

All I have is a title, and a concept. Yet I lack the vision...woe!

-_-;

Oh well. *grin* WhiteCat-san sent me the url for the Harry Potter fan art ring. I am just drooling over the pretty, pretty art! I'm surfing this one at the moment. That's a link to the main page, just go here if you want to be immediately directed to the Harry Potter fan art.
So far I've viewed a gorgeous Ron-Hermione picture (yeheyyy) and what seems to be a slash-tinted Ron-Harry pic (evilMia: are those bedsheets? *whaps evilMia away*). Now, where are those Draco-Harry pictures? They're bound to be here somewhere...

While we're on the subject of Harry Potter, My Mom informed me that Book 5's been delayed. Waah!

Thursday, April 12, 2001 / 04:27 p.m.
I got productive! Well, sorta productive anyhow. :P I uhmn...sorted out my trading cards...and~ got started on revamping my Harry Potter page!

Heck, now I'm becoming motivated with all my web projects. About time eh? Now, onto htmling the Potter mainpage and figuring out how to deal with the fan art submissions.

If I hear Hikaru Utada's 'Can You Keep a Secret' one more time, I will scream. Really. :P

Wednesday, April 11, 2001 / 02:15 p.m.
I'm still freakin sleepy! It's gonna rain shortly, the weather's humid...but I have horsebackriding in an hour or two. Mou, if I could, I'd opt to just sleep in for the afternoon.
My feet also hurt from doing rounds on the Dance Dance Revolution machine at Pondok Indah earlier today. Nyah.

There's Ruroni Kenshin manga in Bahasa Indonesian! I found volume 1 but it was a very bad copy (some pages were upside down O_o) - so I just bought volume 2. Hey, Oniisama, want one? ^o^

My Card Captor Sakura manga is complete! I found and purchased number 3! Yes!

Tuesday, April 10, 2001 / 05:42 p.m.
Our cable TV just got reconfigured, now we get more channels, including MTV Chinese! And it was hooked up just in time for the J-music top 10. Dandy, dandy, dandy! I wonder who sang the number 3 ('M').
Hikaru Utada's 'Can You Keep a Secret' is number 2 ("Ack! It's Bicentennial Man gone worse!"), and L'arc~en~ciel's 'Honey' is number 1.

'Honey' isn't Laruku's newest single, whats it doing on number 1? Lah, no biggie. I enjoyed watching the video, flubbing up my Japanese as I tried to sing along while jumping on my mom's bed.
Haido-sama, I still adore thee...even if you're married to someone unworthy.

Tuesday, April 10, 2001 / 08:30 a.m.
Whaddaya mean Maruzen is closing down?! O_o Whaaa...no, I don't know what you should do either, Selene-san. Mou, not Maruzen! *pouts* :/

Alright, please tell me why anyone would search on yahoo for 'There was a problem accessing your mailbox'? ^^;

Last night I came across this gorgeous Zhang Ziyi webpage. Wow. She is pretty. She can kick butt. I think I'm becoming a bit obssessed with her. Whoo.

Monday, April 9, 2001 / 10:56 p.m.
HARRY POTTER YAOI! *squeals* Wai! Though I do prefer Draco x Harry over Harry x Ron. I prefer Ron straight, with Hermione. =)

Now I'm considering expanding my Harry Potter doujinshi search page to archive anime-style fan art. Any objections?
I still havent found Potter doujinshi. *pout*

I'd like to plug for my dear friend Chikara's page, because she's a fantabulous artist and has a LOT of fan art based off a WK fanfic we've been working on. ^^ Chikara, you owe me the Fujimiya lollipop for this plug! ;p

Monday, April 9, 2001 / 12:53 p.m.
I downloaded the Chinese version of 'I'll Make a Man Out of You' from Mulan. Not bad, acually.
Especially for Jackie Chan. Bwahahahahaha! Thank you WhiteCat-san for the reccommendation!

Listening to the song makes me want to watch Mulan again. The movie was below my expectations, but I'd just watch it for the sequence 'I'll Make a Man Out of You' - that's the only scene there which really impressed me, truth be told.

From this blog, I came across this page for Indonesian anime gatherings. Interesting da. :) I seem to be coming across more Indonesian anime fans online day by day.

Speaking of - yes Selene, a lunch at Plaza Indonesia or Senayan would be nice! ^o^

It's been sometime since I've been to Plaza Indonesia, Mom wouldn't shop with me or even take me there...I wonder why. xD

I pretty much completed the Card Captor Sakura manga series! Mostly in Bahasa Indonesian though. ^^ I'm only missing volume 3 and an Indonesian volume 1. My CCS volume 1 is in Japanese...though I'm pretty happy with that.
Do I understand the Indonesian manga? Err, bits and pieces here and there. *sheepish grin* Hey, it's not as if I can totally understand my Japanese manga either.

Chocolate addicts everywhere, remember this cafe: Bistro, on the third floor of Plaza Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia. Remember this food item on their menu: Hot Chocolate Melt. Set aside 20-30 minutes, order it, then swoon at the rich chocolate taste. Absolutively deadly.

Chocolate, is a basic food group. It must be.

Maybe for the sake of enlightening the weblogging public, I ought to write about something more intelligent. I've been under some serious brain drain for the last few weeks and I have no idea where it's coming from. This mental block is making me feel very, very wretched.

It's not only thought...I've just been damn lazy. I usually shrug laziness off as my usual character, but I know when my energy levels are zapped. This must be one of those moments.
I just received an email from an old classmate of mine...he's sent me about two other mails within the week, wondering how the heck I am. I've been too tired to write to him about anything, and now he's getting panicked. Wah. -_-; Truth be told, I never really cared much for this classmate and he irritated me more often than not. Problem is, this classmate considers me a close friend of his and I forsee this pestering for weeks to come or until I mail him.

Maybe tomorrow. *sigh*

Oh yeah, on a more amusing note...someone came across this blog from a search query of 'ugly pinoy pics'. O_O I didn't think my looks were that notorious!

Mom, you can stop laughing now.

Friday, April 6, 2001 / 08:24 p.m.
Oh yummy yaoi. I rather like the new layout over at Priya's blog. Oh Nick, not so quick indeed. *snicker* Beware the yaoi implication though.

Friday, April 6, 2001 / 08:11 p.m.
I AM FREE!!! Easter break, daisuki!

It's a measely two weeks compared to my friends back in the Philippines who have a whole two-three months off, but the heck - I can laze about to no consequence! Bwahaha!
It's good my laziness now has a time for it, maybe I can be motivated in the next term. But anyhow...I'm free! I'm free! I'm free! What will I be doing during my free time, anyhow...?

Goodness me, I have no idea!
Oh, thanks for the well-wishers. ^.^ I'm definitely better now, a little sniffly but that'll be gone in due time.

Bleh, I have a head cold. But I will not let that spoil my happy mood! Ha!

Thursday, April 5, 2001 / 07:43 a.m.
I get sick with the flu just days before my easter break. Just how dandy is that? Hnh.

I'm just waiting for mail to load so my account won't explode later this afternoon. Well, that finished up as I typed...and the pembantu (househelp) just informed me that my bubur ayam is done.

Point of this entry? Getting the flu sucks, but bubur ayam is one of the best things about Indonesian cuisine. :p

Monday, April 2, 2001 / 07:22 p.m.
Yess! I figured how to do stylesheet backgrounds! Such a feat for me! ^^ I was supposed to archive entries and redo the layout last night, but I couldn't log into port5.com. Yech.

Market Price, Selene? Ugh. -_- So much for to serve and protect. Well, a classmate of mine said that his dad had to cough up a 500,000 'fine'. We're definitely wary now, My mom keeps looking twice at the traffic lights before driving on.

This morning I stumbled upon Les/Rei-san (not to be confused with Rei-chan!) blog! Wai! Les, Long time no see! *glomphigs*

Last night I went shopping and found a place at Pondok Indah Mall where you can get Jenny and Licca dolls. "Jenny is to the Japanese as Barbie is to Americans." explains Mara K. on her very nifty dolls page. I want one of the Jenny dolls, particularly one where she's wearing a kimono...or maybe the one where she has blue hair and wears a maid's uniform.
Also available is a Retro Afro-Jenny Doll (complete with big hair!) which I think would be quite the conversation piece propped up on my bookshelf next to the Japanese Jennys. Oh dandy, dandy! Now if only I had money! And I want to get those 'Madeline' stufftoys to boot...waah, toys make the world go round!

Dinner is served, I must settle this grumbling stomach of mine.
